General Information

The MHSC started in 1994. Over the past 15 years, the group has evolved to address Montcalm County's changing needs and seize new opportunities. The MHSC is recognized by the State of Michigan as one of 76 State endorsed Community Collaboratives throughout Michigan. The MHSC is a voluntary community coalition and  doesn't have legal status (such as "non-profit").

The MHSC (usually) meets monthly. See the "Documents" section of our website for more information on our meetings and related documents. The Executive Committee meets between MHSC meetings.

Current Executive Committee members are Bob Clingenpeel, Chairperson (Commission on Aging); John Johansen, Vice Chairperson (County Commissioner); and John Van Nieuenhuyzen, Past Chairperson (EightCAP, Inc.). The MHSC Chair and Vice-Chair are elected annually in September.
